Plastomatic also offers its customers a reconditioning service for reusable containers.
In accordance with Part 4, Subparagraph 4.1.1.15 of the ADR regulations, the maximum period of use for the inner container is five years. The company placing the container on the market is responsible for complying with the relevant regulations.
The reconditioning process comprises the following:
- Cleaning the container and disposal of the old tank (inner container)
- Replacement of the tank, valves and screw caps
- New nameplates on expiry of the permissible period of use of 5 (and possibly 10) years
- Integrity test on versions with valves
- Straightening and/or welding of cages
- Repainting when necessary for painted Varitainers
- Inspection by the Swiss Federal Inspectorate for Dangerous Goods/Swiss Association for Technical Inspections (EGI/SVTI)
- Transportation from customer location to waste recycling company, then to Muttenz for reconditioning and finally to the customer’s desired destination (e.g. product filling facility)
We will be happy to advise you of the options, lead times and costs for reconditioning your containers. Please send us your inquiry.
The photograph shows a newly reconditioned MultiBox 1000 FC, the tank with its lid and the cover having been replaced. It is now equipped with a service lid (open) for easy connection to a local system, but continues to be certified for the transportation of hazardous materials. The container has also been fitted with new nameplates: approval plate, owner’s plate and contents plate.
